In September 2024, the event production agency Avcom was tasked by Croke Park Stadium to develop a launch event for the new Cusack Stand conference suite. The event was branded ‘Naturally Evolved’ and was based on the four elements; Earth, Air, Wind and Water. As part of the event, the client planned to install an interactive LED wall in the entrance corridor which would show abstract content based on the four elements theme.

Using Notch for content generation and a Kinect for the interactivity, I developed four distinct looks for each element which were all generated in real time. For ‘Earth’, blades of grass grew upwards from a soil background. For ‘Fire’, sparks and flames were emitted from the person’s silhouette. For ‘Air’, particles and trails were generated like the patterns of wind. For ‘Water’, particles flowed around the person’s shape. Each look was on screen for 1 minute, with distinct transitions between each segment. Each look was also accompanied by a soundtrack relevant to that element. Before the event I was able to provide the client with 3D renders to show how the screen and content would look in situ.

As this was one of the first things the guests saw when they arrived at the event, I was immensely proud and appreciative that Avcom trusted me to deliver this unique interactive experience.
