Every year Great Place to Work Ireland organises an awards ceremony that honours and celebrates the best workplaces in Ireland. In previous years there was a disconnect between the pre-event graphic design (Invites, banners, etc.) and the event screen design. This year the client wanted to have one cohesive identity for the whole event, so I was tasked with creating an event theme based on the tagline ‘For All’. It also needed to incorporate their brand colours, which were a mix of red, white, grey and black.
I settled upon a mosaic design that represented the various personalities that one would find within a company. The design was comprised of squares which had different shapes on each face, as well as stock photos of people which were provided by the client. For the pre-event graphics I designed the magazine cover which was published in the Irish Times, as well as email and web banners for the client. I also created some pre-visualisation images and videos for the client so they could see how the room would look for the event.
For the event there were three sizes of screens that I designed content for; a 10x3.5 metre LED screen in the centre of the stage, two 1.5x1.5m LED cubes on either side of the stage, and four 16x9 projection screens. Within the design, I changed the squares to be 3D cubes to give the screens a sense of depth. The show consisted of a two and half minute opening sequence that kicked off the event, holding loops, title slides, winner animations, performer backgrounds and five countdowns for the main awards segment.
